About the Group

Opus is the largest independently-owned restructuring and advisory firm in the UK with international reach. The Group delivers multi-disciplinary services at scale, while preserving a boutique, client‑led ethos.

Across the Group, our divisions work with clients to deliver on their objectives, enhance value and attain the best possible outcomes. Our service delivery model combines fresh thinking with specialist skills to facilitate the next steps of the client’s journey; and whilst each of our divisions run independently, all work together to tailor services to each requirement.

Our Story

Our Group has expanded over the years to support businesses through the complete lifecycle.

Dedicated Scottish Support

As well as opening offices in Maidstone, Nottingham and Preston; we also began building our presence in Scotland with offices in Glasgow and Edinburgh, each with new local Partners.

New Partners & New Offices

With our commitment to supporting businesses with Partners who have local knowledge, we opened offices in Bristol, Leeds and Newcastle upon Tyne with new Partners joining us from each region.

Expanding Advisory

Opus’s business advisory services were expanded to form a new service offering branded Opus Business Advisory & Turnaround. A service focused on supporting businesses through a turnaround, looking to improve a company’s performance and assist with its growth.

Growing Corporate Finance

Hyde House was acquired at the beginning of 2018 to expand the corporate finance division. At this point, Precision Opus was rebranded to acknowledge the acquisition and repositioning of the corporate finance company as Opus Hyde House.

Forensic Accounting for Disputes

Continuing its expansion, Pear Tree Forensic Accounting joined the Group to form Opus Pear Tree in 2017 to deliver forensic accounting services to organisations requiring support through litigation and disputes.

Helping Businesses to Grow

Having already managed many business sales, Opus wanted to deliver dedicated support for clients looking to grow through acquisition as well as helping clients looking for a viable exit option. Precision Opus was formed as a Corporate Finance division of the business.

Opus Equity is Formed

Opus Equity was established to provide turnaround and investment capital. Initially identified for distressed business that had immediate funding issues, the service broadened to businesses in need of working capital, development capital or stakeholders seeking exit options.

The Inception of Opus

Established by the 5 founding Partners, Opus was first positioned to deliver restructuring and insolvency services. The Partners vision was to deliver a value driven service that was cost sensitive, underpinned by a Partner led team who were accessible throughout the assignment.
