Paul Mallatratt’s expertise lies in the personal insolvency field, having joined the Official Receiver’s office in 1997 and moving into private practice in 2011 with a top 10 firm. Paul was a Deputy Official Receiver for a number of years and understands the bankruptcy process inside out, as well as specialising in investigation work. Since qualifying as an Insolvency Practitioner, Paul has dealt with a number of complex investigatory matters as trustee in bankruptcy as well as helping those in financial difficulty via the IVA process. Paul joined Opus with former RSM colleague Louise Freestone in January 2021 to set up an office in Nottingham, and now heads up the firm’s personal insolvency offering.
Paul is committed to training and development of the next generation of IPs and is a member of the profession’s Examination Team, focussing on the Personal Insolvency paper.
Outside of work Paul enjoys long walks in the country with his dogs, ideally involving a pub lunch.
