Gary is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner with over 34 years experience of Restructuring and Corporate Insolvency.
He originally trained with Arthur Andersen and during that time was involved in some of the major receivership appointments such as Leyland DAF and Ferranti.
Gary spent nearly 30 years with Begbies Traynor heading up the North West Banking & Asset Based Lending offering.
Recent assignments have involved working with banks, asset based lenders, private equity & distressed debt in respect of underperforming clients. Restructuring & Advisory assignments have ranged from an Independent Business Review to assess the financial viability of the company to taking the formal appointment and trading the business in the short term, whilst negotiations for a sale of the business and assets were concluded. In addition, exit planning, options reviews and debt restructuring have been an area which Gary has gained valuable insight and experience in.
In his spare time Gary is an avid Aston Villa fan and coaches a youth football team. When not acting as a taxi service to his two teenage children Gary can be found at the gym.
