Hoan began her professional career at Begbies Traynor’s Birmingham office in 2003, dealing primarily with corporate insolvencies including administrative receiverships, trading administrations, administrations, pre-packs and creditors and members voluntary liquidations.  Hoan advised directors on the solvency of their business, undertook cashflow review forecasts on behalf of banking institutions and provided personal insolvency advice to individuals.  Hoan had experience of dealing with companies across a number of different industries and sectors. Between 2010 to 2014, Hoan managed the Begbies Traynor’s office in Cambridge before joining Dains Forensic LLP in June 2014.

Hoan has specialised in forensic accounting since 2014 and has assisted the Expert Accountant(s) on numerous cases for Prosecution and Defence, Claimant and Respondent.

Hoan’s principal areas of focus have been on:

• Fraud and financial investigations
• Criminal and regulatory
• Confiscations under The Proceeds of Crime Act
• Forensic insolvency
• Analysis of banking information/material in matrimonial and civil matters including IRHP and mortgage repossessions

In her spare time, Hoan likes to read (proper books not kindle) hike, climb mountains, hang out with her family, travel and participate in charitable challenges.  Her last challenge in September 2024 was a 100 mile non-stop walk (Devon Coast to Coast) which she completed in just over 36hrs.
