CoStar Reporter Kasmira Jefford looks at the issues for landlords and the retail property market more generally caused by the failure of the retail chain BHS.
Nick Hood, a business risk adviser for Opus Restructuring, said 15 years of underinvestment and lack of focus were to blame for BHS’ demise.
“The problem with BHS is so tired and so behind the times that the amouint of money it would have take to put even half the portfolio right would have been enormous. That is why the heavy hitters have backed off,” he told CoStar News.
