Opus opens Bristol office, expanding its national footprint

December 1, 2020

Opus Business Advisory Group continues to grow its UK presence and recently opened its doors to a new office in Bristol.  This is their 6th location across the UK and a natural step for the Group with Bristol being a significant business hub in the South West of England with a strong presence in the financial services market.

Tim Dolder, Partner at Opus explains,

‘Opening a dedicated office in Bristol will enable us to further deepen our relationships with partners and business owners in this area of the UK. Our expansion demonstrates our commitment to continue offering a first-class, personable service that provides innovative and progressive ideas to help businesses.’

Delivering a wide range of cost sensitive and partner driven services to support the SME market, Opus helps companies and individuals deal with financial and operational challenges as well as opportunities throughout all stages of the business life cycle.

Group services include business advisory, corporate finance, equity, forensic accounting and restructuring & insolvency. Whilst Opus delivers services across all sectors, the Partners have particularly strong credentials in construction, technology, travel, retail, manufacturing, education, property, healthcare, charities, hotel, hospitality, care homes, leisure, entertainment and the service sectors.

The Bristol office sees the arrival of a new Partner and Associate Director to lead the initiative. Steve Ramsbottom joins as a Partner with Opus Restructuring & Insolvency. Steve was `Big 4` trained, before spending several years with Moore Stephens, based in their Bristol Office. A licensed Insolvency Practitioner with over 30 years’ business recovery and insolvency experience, Steve handles all types of formal procedures, as well as preparing advisory reports for stakeholders of distressed businesses.

He is joined by former colleague Jessie Jennings, who has taken up the position of Associate Director. The team will be operating from offices in the City Centre. ACCA qualified, Jessie has worked in the insolvency and restructuring market for over 15 years, primarily in the corporate arena.

Both Steve and Jessie concentrate upon Creditors` (and Members`) Voluntary Liquidations, Administrations, Company Voluntary Arrangements and Advisory assignments. They have long standing contacts within established Intermediary practices, and are well known to key financiers, particularly Asset Based Lenders, many of whom have Head Offices located in Bristol and The West.

Commenting on the Opus appointment, Steve Ramsbottom concludes,

‘This is an exciting time for the firm to be expanding into the West Country, and I am delighted to be given this opportunity. There are significant challenges ahead for the economy at large in the post-Covid/ post- Brexit era; here in Bristol, and further afield, we host a number of important sectors which are likely to be in need of our help and guidance going forward. Opus Restructuring & Insolvency has a wealth of experience in providing expert advice to stressed organisations and are committed to establishing a regional team to develop that proud brand.  Whilst supporting business in the local area, we will also be working closely with other Opus Partners to deliver our full range of services on a national scale.’
